The award ceremony of the winners of the Hydrogen Energy contest

On September 29, at a meeting of the Academic Council of the Department of Energy Efficiency and Hydrogen Technologies of the NRU MPEI, diplomas were awarded to the winners of the competition of students and postgraduates “Hydrogen Energy”.

The competition was implemented on the basis of the National Research Institute “MPEI” with the support of the Autonomous Non-Profit Organization “Center for Research and Scientific Developments in the Field of energy “Hydrogen Technology Solutions” (ANO “Hydrogen Technology Solutions”).

The winners also received cash prizes from the co-organizer and partner of the competition – ANO “Hydrogen Technology Solutions” in the amount of: 1st place – 50,000 rubles, 2nd place – 20,000 rubles and 3rd place – 15,000 rubles.

The winner (first place) was recognized by the work of Denis Dmitrievich Goldobin, a graduate student of the ITNO Department, on the topic “Energy-efficient production and consumption of hydrogen based on a multigeneration complex at a thermal power plant”. The research is aimed at developing system solutions to improve the efficiency of thermal power plants through the production and energy use of hydrogen.

The second place was awarded to the project of Anton Borisov, a student of the group Gorenje-02m-21, on the topic “Comparative analysis of the combustion process of hydrogen and methane-hydrogen mixture with subsequent use as fuels”. The paper considers the issues of hydrogen combustion, including in the composition of mixtures, as well as the issues of energy chemical accumulation of high-temperature gas waste for hydrogen production.

The third place was taken by the project of the graduate student of the Department of HiEE Gavrilyuk Andrey Alexandrovich on the topic “Electrolysis module with an alkaline electrolyte based on a modern element base”. The solutions developed in this project are aimed at the development of domestic water electrolysis technologies.

The competition was held as part of the implementation of the strategic academic leadership program “Priority-2030” by NRU “MPEI” to involve students in research, development and innovation work.
